
Jayme Williams is a dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) educator with over 30 years
of experience teaching in K–12 and higher education settings. She currently teaches
ASL 1–6 and Deaf Studies at the University at Buffalo and ASL 1–2 at SUNY Erie Community
College, both in-person and online, with a strong focus on Deaf culture, curriculum
development, and student-centered instruction. Jayme has also served as Interim Director
of the ASL Program at UB and as a Sign Language Specialist at St. Mary’s School for
the Deaf.
In addition to teaching, Jayme co-leads the UB ASL Honor Society (ASLHS) as Chapter
Advisor and actively participates in curriculum development, student mentorship, and
campus events promoting Deaf culture. She holds an M.S. in Deaf Education from Canisius
College and a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Gallaudet University, and maintains
certifications including CE.D., SKI-HI Deaf Mentor, and SLPI Superior Plus.
